This Saturday saw the first pop-up plant stall, and the sun finally shone for us. We had folks champing at the bit to come through the gate before 10am and within the hour, most of our sales had been made, with some gentle browsing taking us through to 12pm. Generous plotholders from across both sites donated veg, fruit and herbs from established plants or from this year’s greenhouse efforts. There were also garden plants, some miscellaneous specimens, and we also found some ‘vintage’ gardening books to let go of on the side.
A cuppa and a biscuit, always welcome, felt particuarly lovely to have while relaxing in the sunshine (this writer was swanning around rather than manning a stall!) and the whole affair was deemed a wonderful success by all involved.
Massive thanks go to Sally W who devised, created and executed a super event, not to mention daughter Katie, Helen on the T&C stall and everyone who donated plants. As always, if I’ve forgotten anyone to thank specifically, it’s not intention, just failing memory.
A resounding success, any leftover plants are going to be kept and nurtured for sale at the Saturday produce stalls when they start in the summer, and we look forward to repeating the event at some point again in the future.
